Luxembourg companies that hire apprentices are eligible for financial assistance designed to support their commitment to vocational training. If you employed one or more apprentices during the 2024–2025 school year, it is important to verify your eligibility and submit your application by June 30, 2026.

What financial assistance is available for training employers in Luxembourg?

To encourage the training of apprentices, training employers can receive financial assistance calculated based on the apprenticeship allowance paid to the apprentice.

The amount of assistance depends on the qualification being pursued:

  • For apprenticeship contracts leading to the Diploma of Professional Competence (DAP) or the Technician’s Diploma (DT), the support amounts to 27% of the apprenticeship allowance;
  • For contracts leading to the Certificate of Professional Competence (CCP), the support amounts to 40% of the apprenticeship allowance.

Are employer social security contributions also reimbursed?

Yes. In addition to the financial assistance related to the apprenticeship allowance, the training employer may be eligible for reimbursement of the employer’s share of social security contributions associated with this allowance.

This measure further reduces the cost of in-company training.

Who is eligible for this support?

The support is available to training employers based in Luxembourg who have taken on apprentices under a recognised apprenticeship contract during the 2024/2025 academic year.

Eligibility criteria and practical arrangements can be checked with the relevant authorities.

What is the deadline for submitting an application?

For apprenticeship contracts that took place during the 2024/2025 academic year, the application must be submitted by 30 June 2026 at the latest.

After this deadline, the company risks losing the benefits of the grants to which it might be entitled.

Where should the application be sent?

Applications must be submitted to the ADEM’s Career Guidance Service.

It is advisable to prepare the necessary documents well in advance to avoid any delays in processing the application.

In summary

Luxembourgish training employers are eligible for:

  • a grant covering 27% of the apprenticeship allowance for DAP and DT training;
  • a grant covering 40% of the apprenticeship allowance for CCP training;
  • a refund of the employer’s social security contributions linked to the apprenticeship allowance.

For the 2024/2025 academic year, the deadline for submitting applications is 30 June 2026.
